Thich nhat hanh was born in central Vietnam in 1926.In 1942, at the age of 16, he became a zen monk.After the outbreak of the Vietnam war, he was the chairman of the buddhist peace mission in Vietnam. He and many of his fellow monks gave up their lives in the temple, where they were kept aloof from the world, and devoted themselves to helping the victims of the war.At the same time, they openly expressed their desire for peace.
