Pao was born on June 24, 1934, in the town of khundada in ijawaddy province, south-central myanmar. At the age of 10, he was a buddhist monk.At the age of 20, the yeji daidi temple in the town of khumdada invited the elder mingkala siyadol.In 1981, he became the third abbot of pao chan Lin after the death of the former abbot of pao chan Lin.In 1996, master pao was awarded the title of grand zen master.
